Echoes and whispers of the city reimagined in original audio journey

“From Central to Kai Tak, via To Kwa Wan, San Po Kong and Ngau Tau Kok; 3 seats, 21:00, PM if you are interested.”

Four strangers’ lives become intertwined on a hitchhike ride from Central to East Kowloon. As the car passes by familiar landmarks of the city, echoes and whispers of stirring memories arise — when was the last time you took a good look at our city, our home?

Created and produced by the drama students from the Academy for Performing Arts, Last Ride, Fresh Eyes first premiered in 2022 as an immersive online performance. This year, the team presents a five-episode podcast that takes the audience on a reimagined ride, witnessing the stories of four Hongkongers. Recorded with ASMR technology along with rearranged original songs, the audiences can experience together how Hongkongers overcome their struggles with perseverance in the face of challenges.

We don’t know what’s going to happen to our city tomorrow, but at least we still have today.
